Molecular Imaging PicoSPM II system

Description:

PicoSPM II is a new system for scanning probe microscopy (SPM) of all forms: An highly modular microscope is combined with a user-programmable controller.

Specifications:

the PicoSPM II enables top-down scanning and environmental control. The Universal Microscope Base permits easy integration with an environmental chamber or an inverted optical microscope.

Options:
  • Imaging Modes - Each scanner has an interchangeable module at the end. Different imaging modes use different such modules. The standard "nose-cone" does contact mode AFM and Lateral Force Mode (LFM). Other imaging modes, such as oscillating tip modes (MAC Mode AFM, acoustic AC mode AFM), and STM are accomplished by simply changing to the appropriate nose-cones. Force modulation and Phase Imaging are standard features.

  • Scanners - Two types of scanners are available. The "MaxiScan" (large range) scans a minimum area of 80 mm ´ 80 mm with 7 mm vertical dynamic range. The "Atom Grabber" (small range) gives atomic resolution with a scan range 5 mm ´ 5 mm.
