Single-walled carbon nanotubes as optical sensors

Research

We develop optical nanosensors for biomolecular targets using optically active nanoparticles, to probe living systems at the nano-scale. These sensors can provide both spatial and temporal information about the analytes of interest. Our goal is to monitor important biomarkers in real-time and advance novel nanotechnologies for diagnostics and treatment.

Further, we work on theoretical projects in the field of nonequilibrium physics aiming to model and understand the physics of living systems. We develop analytical and numerical tools to quantify nonequilibrium activity for stochastic processes driven far-from-equilibrium using the framework of stochastic thermodynamics and machine learning.
